Samsung Electronics reported its highest-ever quarterly revenue for the first quarter of 2025, driven by robust sales of its latest Galaxy S25 smartphones and premium devices. The South Korean tech giant announced consolidated revenue of 79.14 trillion won ($56 billion) for the January–March period, marking a significant year-over-year jump.

Operating profit for the quarter reached 6.7 trillion won ($4.7 billion), slightly up from 6.61 trillion won a year ago, signaling strong performance in consumer electronics. The flagship Galaxy S25 lineup played a major role in boosting revenue, underscoring Samsung’s continued dominance in the high-end smartphone market.

However, not all divisions shared in the momentum. Samsung’s semiconductor segment reported a decline in operating profit, dropping to 1.1 trillion won ($774 million) from 1.91 trillion won the previous year. The company cited lower average selling prices and subdued demand for high-bandwidth memory, as clients await the rollout of next-generation chips.

Despite the setback in its chip business, Samsung remains optimistic about future growth, banking on innovation and upcoming product launches to sustain its market leadership.
